Friday was filled with so many close calls, it was insane. Obviously someone was looking out for my utterly horribly destined day. There were so many things that I thought were gonna kill me … that almost did … but didn’t … very luckily.
So I woke up yesterday morning … not at all eager to go to school, but I did … it was awesome! (complete sarcasm intended) Um … so I actually woke up at about 5am this morning because my mom was yelling and screaming and slamming doors … then she opened mine and started bellowing for no good reason at all … woke me up and then left for work. In case you were wondering, I don’t normally get up until about 6 or 6:15am … not 5 … that’s crazy.
To add to the wonderful wakeup call, as I was driving to school I realized that I hadn’t even done the experiment for my Physics lab that was due during class (3rd Period). Without a study hall, that meant I was screwed. We were suposed to come by and do it sometime during our study hall or lunch all this past week, but I never made it because I was still making up tests and quizes and whatnot. So I thought I was going to get my first late grade of any kind in that class on Friday (right now I have like a 98%). I saw my nearly perfect grade being destroyed because of my utter stupidity and forgetfullness. Then when I got to class we went over the test that we had taken on Thursday, and then had about 20 minutes or more left in class. I asked her if I could do my lab, and she said “Sure. Just turn it in before the end of the day.” I was sooo happy! So it took me about 10 minutes to do my lab, and I started working on the writeup, which I finished during lunch.
My next problem for the day occured when I realized that Ms. Broyles wasn’t going to be there selling food once again … and all I had was a $20 bill (and no desire for cafeteria food). So I thought that I was just going to have to go hungry. We had a tennis meeting during lunch, and when I got up there Mr. Kantz was selling Papa Johns pizza. I was happy, because I was pretty sure he was going to have change for a $20. Then the first thing that I hear him say was, “Okay, a free slice for tennis players.” I was like “YES!” And about 5 minutes later, when the mob of people buying pizza had died out … and there were still about 2 or 3 boxes left, he just let us have the rest of it (yet again for free). I had 3 pieces of pizza for free … and never had to break my $20.
6th Period rolls around and I’m going to my locker to get my gym shorts. I then realize that I have no idea where in the crap they are, and it’s too late to try and bum some off of someone else (cuz I have P.E. 6th period). I was all mad that I had to miss my first day of P.E. and get points knocked off my grade … especially when we were going to have a free day. I was so angry. I went ahead to the locker room to see if someone had an extra pair, for whatever reason. And obviously no one did … so I kinda sulked and moped on out … noticed a nicely folded pair of new, clean gym shorts sitting on a table outside the locker room. I looked around hesitantly for a second … grabbed them and RAN!
I was late to “Role Call!” but I didn’t get points off my grade and I got to play 4 square … lol!
So obviously God was trying to show me something Friday. He presented me with enormous amounts of problems and with what seemed to be now way out. Then right at the last second, he would take control of the situation and make it all wonderful. Helping me through my problems, and making my day better than it could have been without them (free pizza!). Sometimes I tend to question whether or not God truly plays an active role in my life … and I think God answered me on Friday. I think he more than answered me!
Coincidence? I absolutely think not!
