So yesterday was me and Julie’s 3 month anniversary. I wouldn’t tell her what we were doing last night … you know … I like surprises ;) ! Julie looked amazing last night. She wore a white skirt with greenish flowers and stuff … and a nice little top. Her hair was perfect … it was just a wonderful day for the both of us … I think I looked pretty good myself … we were sexy together … :)

So first I took her to the Tin Angel … over in the Vanderbilt area. The outside of the place was quite disappointing, but when we got inside … my distresses were lifted. I think it had a very nice atmosphere … some interesting artwork … and pretty darn good food … minus the fact that I couldn’t even finish half of it :( lol. From there we went to Centinial Park to watch the sunset. We sat out around the little pond they have there … on a bench (if I had remembered, I would have brought a blanket … but i didn’t :( ). We watched the sunset … and talked … it was very serene … and beautiful … and lovely company! From there (when it had gotten dark, of course) I took her for a carriage ride down on Second Avenue. It was a little more expensive than I had expected, but it was very much worth it!

What a romantic night! It was the first time that Julie and I have been together on our anniversary … I think it was a magical night. And that’s all (that I’m telling … haha)!

Love always,
-Josh

Here’s an ultra-long post about my vacation with my dad this past few days. It’s a play-by-play of everything that happened … I took my laptop with my, so I wrote a little every night … have fun reading! … it should take quite a while! LOL :P

Day 1 (Thursday):
So yeah, first I thought that my dad and I wouldn’t be going on a vacation together after all, but we did/are. My dad and I were supposed to go to Gulf Shores, Alabama this past Wednesday … but he didn’t try and get reservations for a hotel until the Tuesday night. What a retard he is. So, needless to say, there were no hotels with vacancies … at all … whatsoever … blah blah blah. So I thought we weren’t going to go anywhere at all … then Wednesday afternoon (the day that we were supposed to leave) he calls me and says that we are going to Biloxi, Mississippi … which should have beaches and whatnot just like in Gulf Shores. So we finally leave his house at about 3:30pm Wednesday. Over 500 miles and 9 hours later, we are finally there (I drove halfway, he drove halfway).

Day 2 (Friday):

Thursday morning, my dad was a lazy bum and didn’t get out of bed until 12 noon. That was extremely annoying. So we go out … look around for the beach … and finally find what Mississippi considers a “beach.” The water was amazingly warm/hot, kind of grossly … we choose to go out on this tricycle floaty thingy … which was quite interesting to say the least. We paddle out pretty far, about fifteen minutes worth … and choose to take a little swim … all to find that we were just in waste-deep water. How that makes sense, neither one of us were sure. Then I notice how sticky and gooey the “ocean/beach” floor feels … we decide to get out a few minutes later … and find that our feet are black. We notice these big pipes going into the water from the shore … and have come to the conclusion that we just visited the “poo beach.” Yeah, we think that they pour sewage or they [a little more likely] had an oil spill (seriously) into that “beach.” We can’t be sure, but we can be sure that it was gross all around. There was hardly anyone there … and we found out why … cuz it’s the POO BEACH! ugg … how disappointing. We then drive around this town looking for somewhere to eat dinner … and realized that we had apparently ended up in what I like to call “Po-dunk, Mississippi!” Woo Hoo!!! The most “up-scale” restaurant that we could find ended up being a Dominoes. We ended up driving about 20 miles in all directions looking for somewhere a little better … but to no avail. So in a few minutes I’m gonna have a nice, wonderful, luxurious, pizza! Yay! Next time we are definitely not going to some place that we’ve never been to before. Big, bad, mistake. The beach sucks … no parasailing like we had hoped for … no people … poopy beach … the water in this hotel (and for that matter at IHOP) smells bad and tastes worse (the shower leaves you feeling oily) … so yeah, basically what I’m saying is … DO NOT COME DOWN HERE! In now way is it worth your time. In Gulf Shores, you can’t go five steps without running into ten different restaurants, beach shops, parasailing places, Jet Ski places, float places, gift stores, etc. But not here … nothing at all … it’s so sad … this place looks worse than the projects by our school … seriously. So I seriously hope that tomorrow brings much more joy than today did. Hopefully we’ll wake up a lot earlier than we did today … get out and find something more interesting to do than to get this nasty crap on our feet from the “ocean” water. Today, overall, was SUCKY! … oh yeah … and this hotel has no ice … and no working coke machines … stupid stupid vacation … ugg.

Day 3 (Saturday):
So today we went to MacDonald’s to get some breakfast … then to Walmart to get a road atlas … and then my dad called Expedia to see if we could get out of our last night at this horrid excuse for a hotel. We were unsuccessful in that venture … not surprising … so we’re stuck here another night. Interestingly enough our plans for tomorrow are for us to go to Gulf Shores tomorrow morning (about a three hour drive) … and possibly stay there one night. That was unexpected, but nice … except Julie and Courtney were going to TTU on Monday for a visit … and I was invited … guess I don’t get to go now :’( … I was really looking forward to seeing my wonderful girlfriend again, but lately it just doesn’t seem like things are working out how people planned. But my dad’s being really cool about this whole ordeal … I mean … we’re going to Gulf Shores tomorrow … and possibly staying another night there … coolness. So yeah, other than the news of going to Gulf Shores tomorrow morning, nothing really “vacation-like” happened today … talked to Julie and Courtney on the phone for a while, off and on … went to a movie (of all things) … we saw The Island … it was pretty good. The theatre that we went to was of course, extremely small town-ish … only had four theatres … and the tickets were only $2.50 each!!! that means that my dad and I got into a movie at 9pm for a little less than a third of the cost that it would be back at home!!! SCORE! lol :P

Day 4 (Sunday):
Today we woke up pretty early and began the nearly three hour drive to Gulf Shores, Alabama. Upon arriving we realized that we had no place to change into our swimming trunks … of course this thought didn’t cross our minds before leaving the hotel (that would should have changed in before leaving, but stupidly didn’t lol) … and ended up going to a Souvenir shop and changing in the restroom. We then had to go to a gas station to find out where the parasailing place was. The said it was behind some pink building. Well, we found this pink building, but behind it was just beach … and umbrellas … and lots of people. After asking around, we finally found the right umbrellas that the people in charge of the parasailing venture were under. (The only reason that we went to Gulf Shores in the first place was in hopes of parasailing … and not playing around in the oil-dump.) The price for the two of us was a whole lot more than either one of us had expected, but we still put forth the vast amount of cash for the eagerness and long car-ride forced us to do so! Haha :D So we did it … it was fun … we chatted with the guys on the boat before we went up and they said they’d give us and extra couple of minutes up there … which was really cool. For those of you who don’t know, I’ve got a “slight” fear of heights … I don’t completely freak out or anything, but I just get extremely nervous and unsure about safety features and stuff … So this whole experience was very interesting and amazing all at once. The dudes in charge said that we probably went up about 200 to 250 feet! It was scary, and fun at the same time … my dad and I kept kicking ourselves because we forgot to buy a camera to take up there with us :’( … we had one heck of a great view … oh well. They told us that they were going to dip us in the water (on purpose) on the way down for laughs … well, while they were reeling us in we look down and see a massive school of jelly-fish … OMG I got so freaked out! I did my best to pull myself up and raised all my extremities as high from the water as I could in hopes of not getting stung by a jelly-fish again (I got stung badly last time I was in Gulf Shores, many many years ago). My dad got a little wet, and luckily missed the jelly-fish by a little. We headed home right afterwards … cuz I didn’t wanna stay another night away from home and Julie … so at 6pm … we began the 8-9 hour drive home! I drove for about 4 hours and then it was my dad’s turn. I slept the rest of the way … we got back to his house a little before 3am!!! I slept until 11 this morning.

END OF VACATION!

Glad to be home! Today’s Kristen’s birthday!!! Happy 17th Birthday KRISTEN!!!
Took Julie to go see Bad News Bears tonight … it was pretty good … I laughed a lot … I was in a pretty good mood today ;) … very glad to see my Julie again! I missed her loads and loads. Well, it’s getting late (or should I say early?) … so I’m gonna get some sleep … gotta lot of Julie time ahead of me tomorrow (or today?) haha ;)

Adios todos,
-Joshie

LOVE YOU JULIE JULIE JULIE!

JulieJuly 20, 2005 12:47 pm

So yeah, life this past couple of days has been pretty wonderful. Saturday, at about 9:15 in the morning, I left for the big ATL (atlanta, georgia) with Julie, her parents, and her little brother. It was a long ride (well not too long, but long enough … about 4 hours or so). The first day that we were there we went to the all famous The Varsity, where I had a pretty darn good burger, onion rings, and a chocolate shake (i ate ALL of it!!!). Julie’s dad was all excited about going … this place was massive. I think it’s like the biggest drive-thru in the world or something like that, but what’s ironic is we ate inside :P ! We then went the the Coca-Cola factory, where outside while waiting in line to get in the employees had little contests/games amongst a few of those in line. Some sang, danced, and got laughed at a whole lot … it was quite entertaining. We go in and have the little tour … watched a pointless little movie or two … and drank some of the nastiess stuff in the form of a liquid in the whole world :< ... some of that stuff was just plain GROSS! (but the original stuff was quite nice ... mmmmmm good!) ... Later we go and find our hotel and room ... we went swimming in the pool that night (started raining after about 15 minutes of being in the pool, so we had to get out and stuff). We went out to dinner to the Marietta Diner (technically we were in Marietta, Georgia) ... which had the largest menu I've ever seen, not to mention the portions they gave ... my goodness! We theng go back to the hotel and after a while realize that the AC doesn't work at all like it should ... got pretty friggin hot in there. (we ended up swiching rooms)

The next day we went to the water park at Six Flags in Georgia ... it was pretty nice ... and pretty big. Overall a lot of fun, other than the fact that the people there were very anal about the weather. Like once, they heard thunder ... and made everyone get out of there lines, even though there we no clouds anywhere near us ... very very annoying. Then it started raining like an hour later, and we had to get out of the line once again ... this time we were about 5 or 6 people from being next in line ... AAHHH! Well after a while, they ended up closing the park for that day ... but on a good note, everyone got a raincheck ticket ... so we came back the next day. (somehow we ended up with 8 raincheck tickets even though we only had 5 people ... :) )
So we went back to the water park the next day, were one of the first people to ride the ride we had ended up waiting in line for over 2 hours for ... and had plenty of fun doing it :D ... we stayed a few more hours, then went back to the hotel to get cleaned up. After all 5 of us had taken our showers and stuff ... we left for Stone Mountain. That little park was interesting ... not the highlight of the trip, but still fun ... watched some little movie in "4-D" ... by that they mean, 3-D plus them throwing water at us and blowing us with air. Then we went up in a skylift thingy ... to the top of the mountain ... Josh is very much afraid of heights ... a tad bit clostrophobic (yes, i'm pretty sure that's spelled wrong :P ) ... and to make things wonderful ... there were at least 30 people in that skylift ... I had to stand by the door ... ugg ... that was freaky. Josh hated that ... I just stared at Julie and the floor the whole time ... I think that if I had looked out I would have most definitely freaked out. :/
Later that night we went to the infamous Laser Show!. It was shot onto the mountain, right after dark. It lasted a pretty long time ... and it was really cool. Julie and I were laying on a blanket together the whole time ... talking ... having a wonderful time ... I'm not sure how many people were out on that lawn watching the whole thing ... but for a while there ... it felt like it was just me and her ... our own private little display of loveliness ;)

And now ... I'm home ... kinda wish I were still out with Julie ... 24 hours a day ... :'( ... but it was fun ... and she took me home yesterday ... we watched 13 Going on 30, it was a pretty good movie ... better company ... fun fun fun ... I had such a wonderful time with her (and her family) this past couple of days ... sad that it's over ...

Going to Gulf Shores with my dad tomorrow ... I should be back sometime on Saturday ... hope that friggin hurricane doesn't get in our way ... I plan to bring back many pictures and upload the ones that I have right now ... been kinda busy lately ;) haha ... okay ... adios ...

Oh, and I'm still working on that religious post of mine ... kinda long and emotional, takes a while ...

Your bestest friend ever,
-JoshIE Clayton

Here’s a very wonderful Relient K song called “My Girl’s Ex-Boyfriend.” If you can’t listen, at least read the lyrics … doesn’t do it justice, but give it a go! :)

When he was seeing her
You could see he had his doubts
And now he’s missing her
Because he knows he’s missing out
Now it’s haunting him
The memories like a ghost
He’s so terrified
Cause no one else even comes close

He’s a guy that you should feel sorry for
He had the world but he thought that he wanted more
I owe it all to the mistake that he made back then
I owe it all to my girl’s ex-boyfriend

So then, along comes me,
This undeserving mess (undeserving mess)
Who would believe my life
Would be so blessed (life would be so blessed)
Two years ago
He left all that to breath (left all that to breath)
Who would of known
It would be everything I need

He’s a guy that you should feel sorry for
He had the world but he thought that he wanted more
I owe it all to the mistake that he made back then
I owe it all to my girl’s ex-boyfriend

If it wasn’t for him
I would still be searching
If it wasn’t for him
I wouldn’t know my best friend
If it wasn’t for him
He would be able to see
If it wasn’t for him
He would be as happy as me

She and I settled down you can bet
That he is going to have to settle for less
He’s someone that I would hate to be
I got the girl and he’s left with just the memory.

He’s a guy that you should feel sorry for
He had the world but he thought that he wanted more
I owe it all to the mistake that he made back then
I owe it all to my girl’s ex-boyfriend

If it wasn’t for him
I would still be searching
If it wasn’t for him
I wouldn’t know my best friend
If it wasn’t for him
He would be able to see
If it wasn’t for him
He would be as happy as me

I feel this song can be applied to many … but it feels quite personal to me :)

Stayed at Guy’s house last night with Bob and Jeremy … Guy’s sister kicked our asses in some puzzle game on my xbox … she’s crazy good at that game …

Going to Georgia with Julie (and her family) on Saturday … getting back on Tuesday. Then I leave for Gulf Shores, Alabama on Thursday with my dad. Should be a fun fun fun week!

okay, that’s it for today … i’m working on a majorly religion oriented post in the next couple of days … be ready … for it will be interesting …

adios,

Guy and I have come together … and created a beautiful webcomic …

Many more on the way … the second issue is already about half done …

We plan to release one every week, if all goes well …

Go see it … it’s short, sweet, and funny (and random)!!!

Here’s GJComics!!!
(click on the image to make it bigger … and then to make it even bigger click underneath it where it says “original image”)

I’m searching for a good host and domain to use for later on … and a title for the comic. GJComics is our “company name” I guess … I just came up with the title I used on that site “SuperHigh” … let me know what you think … suggestions are more than welcome :)

JulieJuly 10, 2005 5:40 am

Hello all! Josh has been quite busy lately. Had my senior pictures yesterday … my hair looked about as good as it ever will in my entire life! I think that the angel of hair was looking down upon me yesterday … lol. Julie had hers yesterday too … lol … her appointment was for 11:30 … mine for 12:30 … and I finished 5 minutes before her cuz she chose to not use on of the standard backgrounds … and for some reason that added an hour to her time … :|
I saw Dark Water with Julie, Julie’s friend Audrey, and Audrey’s date … it was disappointing … the movie is really freaky/weird … but not really scary like the previews make it seem. It was still good though. Julie actually DROVE!?! … amazing isn’t it? lol … sorry Julie, can’t help myself … but I am really proud of you! haha … josh appriciates it … yes he does :)
Guy and I finished our first webcomic … haven’t posted it yet … haven’t decided on a site to do it at … it’s cool, and funny, and amazing … and a whole lot more to come! Just wait … it’ll be awesome … and anticipation just makes it that much better … so be ready … they are short, sweet, and “to the punch-line” (haha) … :D
Well, I’m tired … and I have church in the morning … so … night all … oh yeah, I’m gonna add more pics to my picture site in the next day or so … depending on how much free time I have …

Okay … good night all,
-joshie boy clayton
